“Firefighters located a man behind a brick wall inside of a commercial building,” a news alert from the Los Angeles Fire Department stated.

The man was awake and talking when the firefighters found him, but he was unable to free himself.

Crewmembers were able to get the unidentified man loose with the use of sledgehammers and other tools.

He was released into police custody after paramedics determined he was in good condition, the news release stated.

There were initial indications that the man may have gotten stuck while attempting a burglary, but police have not said why he was taken into custody.
