The networks allow stations to air local programming including news, sports and specials in place of regular network programming as part of their commitment to serve the community.  For Antenna TV, it is illegal for KTLA to air “Married With Children” due to residuals, so whenever that program is scheduled, KTLA will cover it with some other program.  KTLA currently repeats its 6PM weekday newscast on Antenna TV at 7-8PM to provide viewers with local news at a time where we cannot produce a live newscast.  Many viewers like having the rebroadcasted newscast at 7PM since they are not always home from work in time for the 6PM news.   Whenever Antenna TV has special marathons scheduled (movies, Three Stooges, Gidget, Holiday-themed, Alfred Hitchcock, etc) we tend not to repeat our news so that the marathon can air uninterrupted.
