Los Angeles Dodgers ace Clayton Kershaw is staying in the Southland.

The star pitcher and the team reached an agreement on a deal, as reported by baseball insider Joel Sherman and shared by the MLB on X, formerly Twitter.

Once he passes his physical exam, the lefty will be back for his 17th MLB season, though he isn’t expected to play until the summer after undergoing surgery on his shoulder, according to the league.

Kershaw was drafted by the Dodgers in 2006 and has spent his whole career with the team.

“One of the greatest pitchers in baseball history, Kershaw is a former NL MVP, a 10-time All-Star, a three-time Cy Young Award winner and a World Series champion,” the MLB reports. “He owns a lifetime 2.48 ERA, and his 157 ERA+ ranks him second in AL/NL history behind Mariano Rivera (205) among pitchers with at least 1,000 innings.”
