A suspicious package caused the Walmart in Panorama City to be evacuated overnight. 

According to a Los Angeles Police Department spokesperson, officers initially responded to the report of a suspicious package at the store, located on Van Nuys Boulevard, just after 11 p.m. Monday night. 

Upon arriving, police told all employees and customers to evacuate before the LAPD Bomb Squad was called to the scene just after 12:30 a.m. on Tuesday.

Video posted to the Citizen App shows a police presence in the store’s parking lot, which was blocked off by yellow tape. 

After three hours, the bomb squad deemed the package to be safe and not a threat, the LAPD spokesperson confirmed with KTLA

No information on where the suspicious package came from was released.
