Drag racing season is revving up! Hot drag racing Volkswagen’s are competing at the Irwindale Speedway. KTLA’s Gayle Anderson has the details, plus information on other activities you and your family can enjoy this weekend.

45th Annual California State University Pow Wow & Outreach
Long Beach
An American Indian social celebration returns to the California State University campus in Long Beach. The 45th Annual Pow Wow, this Saturday and Sunday, is described as the largest spring event of its kind in Southern California, featuring dancing, arts, crafts and food.

Boeing B-29 Superfortress

Southern California residents and tourists can experience “hands on” history with FIFI, the Commemorative Air Force’s iconic Boeing B-29 Superfortress bomber and other World War II military aircraft on display at the Palm Springs Air Museum.
Accompanying the aircraft a C-45 Expeditor and several other vintage military airplanes. Visitors can tour the historic aircraft and purchase a flight. Prices range from $75 to $1895. Ride reservations can be made at Air Power Tour where additional information about the tour stops can be found.

Naval Air Facility El Centro Air Show

Saturday at 9am the gates open for the Navy Air Facility El Centro annual air show.This is the largest single-day event in the Imperial Valley.
General admission and parking are free. The Air Show features the Unites States Navy Flight Demonstration Squadron, the Blue Angels. NAF El Centro is the winter training home for the Blue Angels and their performance at El Centro occurs at the end of their training and marks the beginning of their show season.
In addition to the Blue Angels, there will be several other military flight demonstrations and civilian performances. There will also be a wide variety of field exhibits and hands-on displays will be available for the education and entertainment of air show attendees. Included among these are vintage as well as state-of-the air military static aircraft, historical displays and exhibits presented by military and aviation enthusiasts.
Visitors should bring hearing protection and sunscreen to the event. Some of the acts, especially the jets can be very loud to young ears. Also, with our sunny weather, sunscreen is always advisable.

Pacific Park on the Santa Monica Pier is hosting its annual job fair Saturday from 9am until 2pm. The park is looking to hire more than 75 employees for Spring Break and Summer positions.
