A stretch of Pacific Coast Highway in Ventura County was reopened Monday morning following Sunday’s mudslide that left rocks and debris on the roadway.

The highway was reopened just before 9 a.m., Caltrans announced on Twitter.

Both directions of the highway were shut down between Callegauas Crek and Mugu Rock after an early morning mudslide Sunday, the Los Angeles Times reported.

The slide occurred as much of Southern California was being doused with rain from a weekend storm.

Crews had cleared the highway of mud and debris by Sunday evening, but waited until Monday to open lanes to traffic due to flash flood warnings, Caltrans tweeted.

The stretch is located near a 9-mile section that was reopened Friday after a three-month closure that was also prompted by rock slides and mudflows.
