Have you seen the movie “The Grand Budapest Hotel?” The Academy Award winning costumes are on display and we can see them for FREE plus costumes worn in our favorite movies in 2014 at the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising exhibition in downtown Los Angeles.

While we’re on the subject of the Grand Budapest Hotel, we can see the bright pink, nine foot by 14-foot miniature model used in the movie created by Oscar winning production designer Adam Stockhausen at the Hollywood Museum.

And, while talking about the Academy Awards, the Academy teaches us about the business and creativity involved in costume design at the exhibit Hollywood Costume. This is the last weekend to see the multimedia exhibition featuring 150 iconic costumes from Hollywood’s Golden Age through the present at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures, at Wilshire Boulevard and Fairfax.

Girl Scouts of Greater Los Angeles is celebrating National Girl Scout Cookie Weekend and Samoas Girl Scout Cookies’ 40th birthday with a “golden ticket” treasure hunt!

Today, cookie customers will have a chance to win a month—or a whole year supply—of Girl Scout Cookies! “Golden tickets” will be randomly placed on boxes of Samoas at booth sales throughout greater LA. If a customer gets one, they will win a month’s worth of cookies. One lucky winner will get the grand prize: an entire year of cookies! To join the treasure hunt: Follow the “golden ticket” clues on the Twitter page @GirlScoutsLA.  Girl Scouts of Greater Los Angeles will be posting clues all day Saturday to lead you to the sweet prize.
