At least 10 people were injured, five seriously, after a head-on collision Wednesday in Altadena that turned into a hit-and-run.

The crash happened around 6 p.m. near the intersection of West Woodbury Road and Glenrose Avenue (map), according to Supervisor Rick Flores with the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

Five of the injured were treated at the scene, while five others were transported to the hospital, California Highway Patrol Officer Richard McAllister said.

Two men believed to be in the car that caused the collision ran off after being treated, McAllister said.

A search for the two men was unsuccessful.
