After two suspicious packages were reported in or near the Van Nuys LAPD station Tuesday, police warned the public to stay clear of the area for several hours.

The two packages were found in the area of the station, according to Los Angeles Police Department Officer Jack Richter.

An alert sent out by LAPD about 11:45 a.m. advised the public to stay away from the station, which is located at 6240 Sylmar Ave. (map).

A bomb squad was present at the station.

At 1:41 p.m., LAPD’s headquarters said on Twitter that the situation was “all clear.”
