Bashir Salahuddin doesn’t just star and sing in “Sherman’s Showcase,” he also serves as the co-creator and executive producer.
The “Top Gun: Maverick” star plays the host of a fictional musical variety show called “Sherman’s Showcase,” which is inspired by “Soul Train,” “American Bandstand,” and “In Living Color.”
“We don’t just get to sing, we get to tap into working with some of our favorite musicians. Everybody from Questlove, to Phonte Coleman, to Ne-Yo. It’s really a lot of wish fulfillment,” the actor explained to KTLA 5’s Sam Rubin.
Season 2 of the series features big names like Issa Rae, Chance the Rapper, Jay Pharoah, and more.
