A shopping center in Koreatown burned for more than an hour and a half on Thursday night, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

The one-story strip mall at 207 S. Vermont Ave., where Vermont Karaoke and Billiard is located, was reported to be ablaze at 6:40 p.m. More than 100 firefighters extinguished the flames by 8:16 p.m.

“The roof collapse of a portion of the building made it difficult to reach pockets of fire in the defensive posture which caused an extended operation,” the LAFD added in its alert.

No injuries have been reported, the department added, and firefighters are expected to remain on scene through the night.
