Proof of full COVID-19 vaccination is now required at the Hollywood Pantages Theatre through Oct. 10, Broadway in Hollywood announced Friday.
Ticket holders must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19, with at least 14 days having passed since receiving the final vaccine dose.
The Pantages Theatre reopens Aug. 17 with a “Hamilton” production.
To enter the theater, guests need to have photo ID and either their physical CDC vaccination card, a picture of the vaccination card or a digital vaccine record.
California residents could use the digital vaccination record they get through the state’s website.
The new vaccination policy is in effect for all “Hamilton” performances at Pantages as well as all Broadway in Hollywood events held at the Dolby Theatre. It comes as Los Angeles County sees a worrisome new coronavirus spike.
“After consulting with the LA County Department of Public Health regarding the severity of the current COVID-19 situation and Delta variant surge, Broadway in Hollywood has determined that additional safety measures to keep patrons, staff and performers safe are appropriate,” Broadway in Hollywood says on its website. “Vaccinations remain the most powerful tool that we have to ensure safety for all.”
Guests under 12 years old and those who can’t get vaccinated due to medical reasons or religious beliefs must provide proof of a negative coronavirus PCR test, taken within 72 hours before arriving at the theater, according to Broadway in Hollywood.
Children under 5 will not be admitted.
And regardless of vaccination status, masks must be worn at all times, except when eating or drinking in designated areas.
On Oct. 10, the vaccine requirement policy will be reassessed and the company will share a policy update.
