Justino Daguro Fernando has been missing since Jan. 1, 2014. He is seen in images released by the Buena Park Police Department.

Justino Daguro Fernando, an 88-year-old in the beginning stages of dementia, was reported missing to Buena Park police on the afternoon of Jan. 1.

“We fear time is running out extremely fast for my grandfather,” Fernando’s grandson Jason Wolent said in an email to KTLA earlier Friday. “It has been 17 days … Our family is desperate.”

Buena Park police have repeatedly asked for the public’s help finding Fernando.

On Friday Fernando was located in Irvine in good health, according to a news release from the Buena Park Police Department.

Due to his dementia, Fernando was not able to explain where he had been during the past seventeen days, police said.

Anyone with information was asked to contact police at 714-562-3985.
