The family of a 55-year-old Manhattan Beach woman with early-onset Alzheimer’s disease is asking the public’s help in locating her.

Nancy Paulikas was last seen around by her family around 2:45 p.m. Oct. 15 at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

Security footage showed her at the intersection of Wilshire Boulevard and McCarthy Vista heading west around 15 minutes later, authorities said, but that is the last sign of her.

Paulikas is described as a white female with graying brown hair and blue eyes, 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighing around 140 pounds. She was last seen wearing a red, long-sleeved blouse with a white paisley print, jeans and black and white sneakers.

Her husband, Kirk Moody, said she disappeared after going to use the women’s restroom while he ran to the men’s.

Moody said she suffers from early-onset Alzheimer’s disease and is at the developmental stage of a 4-year-old, making her prone to disorientation and anxiety. She had no jacket, wallet or phone at the time of her disappearance, he added.

Physically, Paulikas is in very good health and can walk long distances without tiring, her family said.

“We’re just hoping we can find someone or somebody that actually lays eyes on her and can verify it is her, and we can return her home safely,” Manhattan Beach Police Department Sgt. Paul Ford said.

Paulikas was an accomplished technology executive at a financial firm before retiring in 2011, Moody said. She developed Alzheimer’s disease about three years ago, he said.

Since her illness, she has never tried to go anywhere without her husband, he said.

“I’m actually quite convinced she’s looking for me,” he said.
