Police were searching for the hit-and-run driver who struck a teenager on Tuesday evening in Hyde Park.
It happened around 6:30 p.m. near 48th Street and Ninth Avenue, according to Officer Faden with the Los Angeles Police Department’s Media Relations Office.
The unidentified victim was crossing mid-block on 48th Street when she was struck by a light blue Toyota Camry, according to LAPD Sgt. Michael Morales.
She was transported to the hospital with “possibly multiple broken bones,” Faden said.
The car involved in the crash was found abandoned, according to Morales who said police were searching for the driver.
The victim was initially identified as a woman in her 20s, but police later described her as teenager.
No other information had been released.
