The incident began about 6:30 p.m. when the victim was walking in the 600 block of Van Wig Avenue (map) in West Valinda, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said in a statement Sunday.

A vehicle drove past the girl and stopped a few feet in front of her, after which two men exited the car and a third remained in the driver’s seat, the statement said.

As the victim walked past the two men, they grabbed her from behind and pulled her into the vehicle, the Sheriff’s Department said.

The girl told detectives she was sexually assaulted before being released by her attackers, who then drove southbound on Van Wig and out of view.

The men who got out of the car are said to be 20 to 27 years old; the age of the third man is unknown. All three are believed to be Hispanic.

The car is described as black, possibly a 1990s Honda Civic with a partial license plate No. of 2WE****.
