Devin Davis, a sophomore basketball player for Indiana, is in serious condition after he was hit by a car driven by freshman teammate Emmitt Holt.

Holt, 18, was cited for illegal consumption and operating a vehicle with a blood-alcohol level above 0.02, according to the Indianapolis Star.

Holt reportedly had dropped off Davis at a parking lot near the Indiana football stadium before the accident occurred early Saturday morning.

Bloomington Police Sgt. Jeffery Canada said Holt and his passengers were driving away when Davis entered the road for unknown reasons and was struck by the SUV.
