Move over Shamrock Shake, the Luck of the Matcha is here

There’s a new St. Patrick’s Day drink in town, and it’s only available at Starbucks. The coffee chain has launched its Luck of the Matcha Crème Frappuccino, available starting today, and if you’re curious to try it, you can get a special BOGO offer this week.

If you’d rather skip the Starbucks run and make your own matcha at home, though, you can whip up a delicious drink with easy-to-find products including bamboo whisks and matcha latte mix.

What is a Luck of the Matcha Crème Frappuccino?

Starbucks describes the new drink as being “inspired by a pot o’ gold at the end of the rainbow.” It blends together creamy matcha, caramel syrup, milk and ice, then tops them with whipped cream, caramel sauce and crunchy caramel-sugar topping.

The buy-one, get-one deal is available exclusively to Starbucks Rewards members on Thursday, March 14 from noon to 6 p.m. local time. During that time, you can order via the Starbucks app or at any location. You can access the BOGO coupon via your Rewards member account in the app and use it to get a free handcrafted drink when you purchase one — and the deal includes the Luck of the Matcha Crème Frappuccino.

And more new spring Starbucks drinks

In addition to the new Frappuccino, Starbucks introduced a few other new drinks for spring: Iced Lavender Cream Oatmilk Matcha, Iced Lavender Oatmilk Latte and Hazelnut Oatmilk Shaken Espresso.
