Pamela Skaist-Levy & Gela Nash-Taylor, Juicy Couture

Juicy Couture co-founders Pamela Skaist-Levy and Gela Nash-Taylor.

Pamela Skaist-Levy and Gela Nash-Taylor are best friends who founded a global fashion empire. Juicy Couture pioneered velour tracksuits for women with the word “Juicy” embroidered across the rears of the celebrities who wore them and women who aspired to dress like them.

From the late 1990s through the mid 2000s, Juicy Couture grew from an idea to a billion dollar brand. The initial investment of its founders? $200. By the time the women left the company, they had earned $200 million dollars. But selling their brand and leaving the company in the hands of others has been a painful experience for these hands-on entrepreneurs. In this podcast, you’ll hear how they dealt with it and how they’ve moved on to create a new company Pam & Gela. You’ll hear how it all happened from their dreams as “shop girls” to their glamorous lives as fashion moguls.
