A section of Pacific Coast Highway that was closed Friday in Malibu due to the threat of further rock slides has been reopened, authorities said.
PCH was blocked off from Yerba Buena Road to Las Posas Road because of dangerous driving conditions caused by heavy rainfall, according to the California Highway Patrol said.
“Motorists are encouraged to drive slow and be aware of small falling debris,” a news release from the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office stated.
Caltrans crews would continue to patrol the area, according to the release.
Video from the scene showed workers placing barricades near the road.
Officials also warned drivers to slow down because of slick roads, heavy rain and wind along the west-facing coast up through Oxnard.
The forecast called for more heavy rainfall across Southern California Friday, with a chance of thunderstorms, according the National Weather Service.
