Chino Police released surveillance photos of three men who are being sought in connection with a double shooting on Tuesday, Dec. 31, 2013.

Chino police are asking for the public’s help in identifying three men who are being sought in connection with a shooting on Tuesday that left one man dead and another in critical condition.

Officers responded about 9 p.m. to a call of shots fired in the 12800 block of Benson Avenue (map), a residential neighborhood, according to Lt. Wes Simmons of the Chino Police Department.

When the officers arrived, they found the two men in an alley suffering from gunshot wounds, Simmons said. Both victims were transported to Chino Valley Medical Center.

One of the wounded men, 28-year-old Robert Sanchez of Chino, was later pronounced dead at the hospital.

On Wednesday, authorities released surveillance photos of three “subjects of interest” in the case.

“The suspects, described as three adult Hispanic males, were said to have left on foot heading northbound on Benson Avenue,” according to a statement issued by the Police Department.

It was not immediately known if the incident was gang-related. An investigation is ongoing.
