Video of several Indiana State Police troopers lip-syncing to “Summer Nights” while riding in a golf cart at the Indiana State Fair has been viewed hundreds of thousands of times online.

Troopers Brett Lemberg, Jonathan Amburgey, Jonathan Cole and Dustin Rutledge were patrolling the fairgrounds Sunday — the last day of the fair — when they decided to recorded themselves lip-syncing the classic musical number from “Grease,” KTLA sister station WXIN in Indianapolis reported.

Amburgey uploaded the video to Vimeo Sunday, along with several other ones. By the following morning, more than 37,000 people had watched the version of “Summer Nights.”

The same video was viewed over 250,000 times within three hours of being posted to WXIN’s Facebook page.

“The state fair is a time that we have the opportunity to interact with the public in a way that we normally don’t get to. We wanted to show people that we aren’t robots. We have a personality, we like to laugh, and most of all, we like to make other people laugh,” Amburgey told WXIN.

Amburgey explained there wasn’t a particular reason they had chosen “Summer Nights”; he said the troopers had been making videos all week and selecting songs at random.
