DAYTON, Ohio (KTLA) – A 37-year-old man came back to life 45 minutes after medical personnel declared him dead, according to officials at Kettering Medical Center.
Anthony Yahle was rushed to the hospital Aug. 5 after being found unconscious by his wife.
Later that afternoon, Yahle’s heart went into a fatal arrhythmia.
The medical staff tried to resuscitate Yahle for nearly a hour with no success, cardiologist Dr. Raja Nazir said.
At that point Nazir called time of death. He told the family and allowed them to see Yahle to say goodbye.
Yahle’s 17-year-old son, Lawrence, said he was in disbelief. “I pointed at him and said ‘Dad you’re not going to die today’,” Lawrence said.
Within moments Yahle’s heartbeat started to show signs of activity.
“I’ve never seen anybody who we have pronounced dead come back,” Nazir said.
The husband and father of three was released from the hospital with no further complications.
He was set to return to work on Monday.
“I’m calling it a miracle because I’ve never seen anything like it,” Nazir said.
