Bulldozer Plows Through House in Denver; 1 Injured, House Condemned

The Denver Fire Department tweeted this image of a bulldozer after it crashed into a house on July 22, 2016.

A home in Denver was condemned after a bulldozer apparently plowed through a fence and into the residence Friday afternoon, fire officials said.

The incident occurred in the area of 47th Avenue and Ventura Street, the Denver Fire Department tweeted shortly after 1 p.m. local time.

Photos of the scene showed the bulldozer partially into the house, leaving a gaping hole in the roof and piles of wreckage inside and outside the home.

The operator of the bulldozer was treated for minor injuries, according to the Fire Department.

The operator had an unspecified medical emergency, fire Capt. Greg Pixley told the Denver Post.

“He was unable to keep the vehicle from entering a vehicle,” Pixley said. “The bulldozer literally went into this house and created significant damage.”

None of the residents were home at the time, and no one else was injured, according to the Denver Police Department.
