A magnitude-6.7 earthquake struck near Guam late Tuesday night, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.
The quake hit at a depth of nearly 85 miles at around 11:14 p.m. PST, or local time of 4:14 p.m. Wednesday in Guam, the Geological Survey said.
The temblor’s epicenter was located about 30 miles northwest of Hagatna, Guam’s capital.
“By all accounts, Guam was not affected in a major way by this strong earthquake,” according to a Facebook post from the Guam Homeland Security Office of Civil Defense. “There are no reports of major damage at this time from the Emergency Operations Center.”
