Trader Joe’s to open 8 new stores in Southern California

California-based Trader Joe’s has announced that it is adding eight new grocery stores in Southern California.

The new locations will be Sherman Oaks, South Pasadena, Northridge, Santa Clarita, Ladera Ranch, Murrieta, Santee and Poway, a spokesperson confirmed.

Opening dates have not yet been announced.

New Trader Joe’s locations are often welcomed with open arms in communities both within and beyond California’s borders, where they have gained a cult following.

The privately owned grocer is known for its low prices, products that cannot be found in other stores, and employees who wear Hawaiian shirts.

It currently operates 549 stores in 42 states and the District of Columbia.

The eight new Southern California locations are part of a broader expansion involving 24 Trader Joe’s stores nationwide. Other soon-to-open locations in western U.S. include Reno, Nevada, Tucson, Arizona, Milwaukie, Oregon and Salt Lake City, Utah.
