Police are searching for a male who recently tried to record video of unsuspecting victims in bathroom stalls in various women’s restrooms around the UC Riverside campus.

The latest incident occurred July 22 in a bathroom in the Humanities and Social Sciences building, with two others reported in the same Olmstead Theater women’s restroom on June 3 and June 28, according to a news release from the UC Riverside Police Department.

In each of the cases, a male subject held a cellphone under the bathroom stall and tried to surreptitiously record the female victim, the release stated.

A description of the suspected peeper was not immediately available, but his hand was described as large and light skinned, authorities said in the release. He wore dark blue jeans and had black “Lacoste” slip-on shoes.

The cellphone was possibly a white Samsung or Microsoft phone, and was not in a case.

Anyone who witnesses suspicious activity in or around a women’s restroom on campus is urged to call police at 951-827-5222.
