Woman Struck, Killed by Hit-and-Run Driver in North Hollywood

Police were searching for the driver of a white pickup truck who struck and killed a woman Friday night while she was crossing a residential street in North Hollywood.

The crash occurred around 8:25 p.m. on Saticoy Street near Lemp Avenue, according to Sgt. Howard Choy with the Los Angeles Police Department.

The victim, an unidentified woman in her 50s, was crossing southbound on Saticoy when she was hit, LAPD said in a news release.

She was thrown 60 feet by the impact and was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

The driver fled the scene in a truck described that initially described as a white or silver, late-model Toyota Tacoma, according to LAPD Capt. John McMahon said.

Police later stated in the release that witnesses had described the vehicle as a white Toyota pickup truck.
