Some 500,000 revelers are expected to fill the streets of West Hollywood on Friday night during the city’s Halloween Carnaval celebration.
The annual event, billed as the biggest Halloween party in the world, is scheduled to be held between 6 p.m. and 11 p.m. on a mile-long stretch of Santa Monica Boulevard between Doheny Drive and La Cienega Boulevard (map).
Organizers discouraged attendees from bringing children and pets due to anticipated dense crowds.
Lisa Vanderpump, a British restaurateur and television personality who has appeared on “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills and “Dancing With the Stars,” will be crowned by city officials as queen of the Carnaval, according to a news release. The coronation ceremony is set to take place at 9 p.m. on a stage at Santa Monica and San Vicente boulevards. Past Carnaval queens have included Queen Latifah, Rihanna and Chelsea Handler.
