A water pipe break in Westwood was flooding at least one street on Wednesday afternoon, prompting a Los Angeles Fire Department response.
One fire truck responded to a report of the water main break and flooding in the 1600 block of Selby Avenue (map), Erik Scott of the Fire Department said about 3:15 p.m.
The city’s Department of Transportation was on scene to help with a road closure, Scott said.
The Los Angeles Department of Water and Power was called about the flooding about 3 p.m., according to Albert Rodriguez of the utility.
A 6-inch pipe broke and crews were en route, Rodriguez said.
The flow appeared to be coming from underneath the asphalt in front of a home, and was seeping up from cracks in the road. The water flowed downhill onto westbound Massachusetts Avenue, video showed.
There were no reports of flooding of homes or businesses, Rodriguez said.

The water main break was about 1 1/2 miles south of a deluge that flooded the UCLA campus last July, causing extensive damage last year and shutting down Sunset Boulevard for days.
