Crews were cleaning up after an early-morning water main break blocked traffic in an Encino neighborhood Friday.

The 8-inch cast iron water main ruptured on Haskell Avenue just north of Ventura Boulevard (map) around 2:35 a.m.

Los Angeles Department of Water and Power crews turned off the water and were working to repair the roadway. The repairs were expected to extend into the afternoon, according to utility spokesman Roberto Galvetz.

About 135 residents were without water, according to DWP.

There were no reports of any damage to nearby homes.

On Monday, another water main break in Encino heavily damaged a portion of Karen Drive and forced the evacuation of two homes.

KTLA’s Justin Burton contributed to this report.
