Health officials have once again issued warnings to stay out of the water at two popular Los Angeles beaches due to high bacteria levels.

People planning to visit the beach at the Santa Monica Pier and Mother’s Beach in Marina Del Rey were asked to avoid swimming, surfing and playing in the water.

The warnings were issued after bacterial levels in the water exceeded health standards when they were last tested, the County of Los Angeles Department of Public Health said in a news release Friday.

Two other beaches, Torrance Beach at Malaga Cove and Avenue I Storm Drain at Redondo Beach, were initially under a warning but have been cleared, health officials said.

More information, including an interactive map of the impacted locations, can be found on the county’s website. Information on beach conditions is available 24 hours a day on the county’s beach closure hotline at 1-800-525-5662.
