Suspects take cash, lotto tickets in string of 7-Eleven robberies

Police are searching for as many as five suspects who took cash, candy and lottery tickets during robberies at multiple 7-Eleven locations in the Los Angeles and Long Beach areas overnight.

Police have not confirmed if all five robberies are related but circumstances are similar in each of the incidents, which took place late Thursday night and early Friday morning.

Los Angeles area robberies

Police responded to two robberies in the Los Angeles area, including one in the Pico-Union neighborhood that took place just after 10 p.m., Los Angeles Police Department Officer Madison confirmed.

Police described four suspects, an 18-year-old male, a 12-year-old male and two 17-year-old females, at the 7-Eleven located at South Burlington Avenue and West Olympic Boulevard.

The suspects got away with about $300 in candy and are still outstanding, Madison said.

The second robbery took place around 1:30 a.m. near West Adams Boulevard and Normandie Avenue in the Adams-Normandie neighborhood.

Madison said the suspects were described as four to five Hispanics of unknown age who fled in a white Kia sedan.

Madison could not confirm if the two robberies were connected or if they are related to three other 7-Eleven robberies reported in the Long Beach area.

Long Beach area robberies

Robberies were reported at three locations in the Long Beach area late Thursday night.

The suspects used a gun as they took cash and numerous lottery tickets in the robberies, stringer news service KeyNews.TV reported.

They were described as three females and two males who fled each scene in a stolen white Kia sedan with California license plate 9HFZ102, the news service reported.

No arrests have been made in connection with the robberies.
