Big Rig Hangs Over Side of Connector From 710 to 60 in East L.A., Causing Closure During Wet Commute

The crash happened around 4 a.m. on the northbound 710 connector to the 60, according to the California Highway Patrol’s incident log.

It’s unclear how the semitruck, which was carrying loads of potatoes and onions, slammed through the railing.

The truck had been removed by around 10:25 a.m., but the connector remained closed for about an hour and 20 more minutes as crews worked on repairing the rail and replacing the light pole that was knocked over in the crash, according to Caltrans.

The interchange reopened by around 11:45 a.m.

Authorities did not report any injuries.
