Suspected retail theft crew busted after running from police in Southern California

A group of six retail theft suspects was taken into custody after trying to flee from police in the Inland Empire Tuesday night.

Officers responded to a burglary call at the Colonies Crossroads shopping center just before 11 p.m, the Upland Police Department posted on X, formerly Twitter.

Three of the suspects were caught after trying to run out of the emergency exit, according to the post.

“On top of their already poor choices, the group had a black BB gun and drug paraphernalia in their SUV,” police said.

Authorities said that one of the suspects was on parole and another was on probation.

“We remain steadfast with enforcing any retail theft in our city,” police said.

None of the arrested suspects were identified.
