March is Women’s History Month, and a coalition of women-owned businesses are coming together to celebrate the impact women have had on the food and beverage industry.

Regarding Her (also known as RE: Her) is a national non-profit driven by women restauranteurs whose mission is to “empower and advance” fellow women by uplifting her business, supporting her community and advocating for her industry, according to the non-profit’s website.

Their Women’s History Month celebration lasts all month long, and KTLA 5’s Jasmine Simpkins visited one event in Pasadena on Sunday highlighting local women-run businesses.

One of the women helping coordinate the festivities, Vanessa Tilaka, is the co-owner and head cheesemonger of Agnes Restaurant and Cheesery in Pasadena.

“In the month of March, for Regarding Her, we are featuring all women-made products made by women makers and owners,” Tilaka said.

In total, over 50 events celebrating female restauranteurs will be held across the Los Angeles-area all throughout March.
