Palisades High School was temporarily evacuated Tuesday morning after a threat posted to social media prompted a bomb squad response, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
The call came in around 8 a.m., LAPD Officer Norma Eisenman said.
Students and staff were evacuated to Temascal Canyon Park as a precautionary measure, a tweet from the Los Angeles School Police Department stated.
A bomb squad would sweep the school and location before it would be reopened, Eisenman had said.
Temescal Canyon was also briefly shut down between Pacific Coast Highway and Sunset Boulevard.
The school, which was also being used as a polling location for Tuesday’s election, was eventually reopened and students were taken back.
Police did not provide any more information about the incident or the nature of the threat.
