Massive gang crackdown nets 32 arrests, guns, drugs in the Inland Empire

A multi-agency operation based out of Yucaipa, California, has resulted in 31 felony arrests and the seizure of 14 firearms, the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department announced Monday.

A portion of the operation, dubbed Operation Consequences, took place between Feb. 3 and Feb. 9.

Ten search warrants were served in San Bernardino, Upland, Twentynine Palms, Desert Hot Springs, Adelanto, Calimesa, Mentone and Yucaipa.

Suspected gang members and people prohibited from possessing firearms were contacted during the operation with several being taken into custody, according to the Sheriff’s Department.

Investigators made a total of 32 felony arrests and seized 14 firearms, which included two ghost guns, and substances that were believed to be methamphetamine and fentanyl.

The goal of Operation Consequences is to “curb violent crime, disrupt and dismantle targeted criminal street gangs, and locate and arrest criminals who are illegally possessing, manufacturing, and trafficking firearms,” the Sheriff’s Department stated.

The operation is ongoing and will continue over the next several months.
