Motorcyclist dies after hitting car, flying into oncoming train in Long Beach

A man died Wednesday evening after he was ejected from his motorcycle and collided with a moving train in Long Beach, police confirmed.

Police said around 5:55 p.m. Wednesday, officers responded to reports of a crash in the area of 8th Street and Long Beach Boulevard.


Investigations revealed that a man riding a 2014 Triumph motorcycle attempted to pass a Honda Civic while going northbound on Long Beach Boulevard when he clipped car’s rear bumper. The man was ejected from his motorcycle into an oncoming metro train that was going southbound.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity was not yet made available as of Thursday afternoon, pending notification of next of kin.
