A man was stabbed near a Metro bus in the University Park area of Los Angeles early Friday afternoon, the latest in a series of high-profile attacks.
The attack was reported at about 12:35 p.m. when officers responded to the intersection of Adams Boulevard and Figueroa Way, where they found a man who had been cut, according to Officer Miller of the Los Angeles Police Department.
The victim was taken by ambulance to a local hospital, where he is expected to survive, police said.
The alleged attacker was taken into custody at Grand Avenue and Adams Boulevard, police said. A knife was also recovered.
Aerial footage from Sky5 showed what appeared to be a significant amount of blood on the sidewalk.
Police told KTLA’s Kareen Wynter that the alleged attacker and victim were the only two people involved in the altercation. However, Metro later said three people were involved in the incident.
“This afternoon, there was an argument among three people on a bus near Figueroa Way and Adams in South Los Angeles,” the statement said. “The operator stopped the bus to allow the arguing passengers to exit. The argument continued on the sidewalk and resulted in an apparent stabbing.”
Police added that two weapons were recovered, but only one was used in the stabbing.

This attack comes after a spree of violence related to the Metro. In the past week, three people have been attacked, one of whom was fatally stabbed.
Metro Board Member Kathryn Barger said the incidents make her “afraid.”
“I will not ride our transit system by myself,” she said.
