Police in Glendale were searching Monday for two men wanted for stealing thousands of dollars worth of electronics and other items from three area churches and a YMCA.
Video released by police showed a man wearing a T-shirt and jeans entering the property of the L.A. Christian Church on Lowell Avenue on March 20 and walking around the grounds for more than an hour.
He eventually pried open the church office door, according to a news release from the Glendale Police Department.
The man even turned the office surveillance camera around in an apparent attempt to hide his actions, police said.
On the video, the man could be seen holding a white cloth in his hand as he handled items and rummaged through drawers.
Police said he also broke into the Central Christian Church next door, where he burglarized the church office.
The burglar was described as a heavy-set man, between 30 and 40 years old, standing 6 feet tall and weighing 250 to 275 pounds with a bald head.
Both churches had experienced numerous burglaries and thefts of electronic items in the past, police said.
A second man was also being sought for allegedly burglarizing a YMCA on Louise Street and stealing boxes of candy, money and a $1,600 guitar, according to police spokeswoman Tahnee Lightfoot.
The same man then allegedly broke into the First United Methodist Church on North Kenwood Street.
