Man killed in early morning Compton shooting

A shooting in Compton left one man dead early Friday morning, authorities said.

At about 6:30 a.m., deputies with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department responded to the 2200 block of West 153rd Street on reports of a shooting.

Upon arrival, deputies found a man suffering from gunshot wounds to his upper torso. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities described the victim only as a Black man between the ages of 30 and 35.

No additional details, including any information regarding a potential suspect, was immediately made available.
