A man died in Reseda Sunday night after he fell in a crosswalk and was hit by a car before he was able to get back up, according to authorities.

The Los Angeles Police Department received reports of a hit-and-run crash in the area of Sherman Way and Etiwanda Avenue around 9 p.m. Sunday.

Investigations revealed that a man in his 60s was crossing Etiwanda in a crosswalk when he fell to the ground. Unable to get up, he laid on the ground until a dark-colored sedan going east on Sherman struck him.

The man was transported to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. His identity was not publicly revealed, pending notification of next of kin.

The sedan’s driver failed to stop after the collision. LAPD said a reward of up to $50,000 is being offered for information that could lead to the suspect’s identification.
