Man carjacked Mercedes-Benz at knifepoint, led officers on pursuit: LAPD 

Police arrested a man after he allegedly stole a vehicle at knifepoint and led officers on a pursuit throughout the Los Angeles area.

According to a spokesperson for the Los Angeles Police Department, the carjacking occurred just before 3 a.m. near 6th and Flower streets in downtown L.A. 

Preliminary information indicated that the suspect carjacked three occupants in the black Mercedes and then fled the area, traveling on the 105 Freeway before merging onto the 110 Freeway and exiting at Rosecrans Boulevard. 

He kept driving on surface streets through Compton and Carson before police executed a PIT maneuver near the entrance to the 91 Freeway, video obtained by KTLA shows. 

The suspect, only identified as a Hispanic man, was taken into custody without further incident.
