Homeless man trashes Los Angeles Rite Aid

A man was arrested after he destroyed the inside of a Rite Aid store in Los Angeles on Tuesday night.

According to preliminary information, the Los Angeles Police Department was dispatched to the Rite Aid located at 226 N. Larchmont Blvd. in L.A.’s Larchmont neighborhood around 9:30 p.m. on calls of a disturbance.

Video shows the man ambling through the store in front of displays that he knocked over. He was also seen hurling bottles of lighter fluid across the store.

Customers inside the Rite Aid also reported that he was threatening them, LAPD said.

Responding officers quickly entered the store and hopped over products scattered across the floor, including the lighter fluid bottles, an exploded bag of Doritos and boxed snacks.

The man was eventually taken into custody after causing about $4,000 in damage to the store.

While his identity was not immediately released, police confirmed that the man was transient.

No injuries to customers, employees or police officers were reported.
