2.5-Magnitude Earthquake Hits San Fernando Valley

A 2.5-magnitude earthquake jolted the San Fernando Valley early Tuesday morning, the U.S. Geological Survey stated.

The quake struck around 4:57 a.m. in Pacoima (map) at a shallow depth of .1 miles.

The temblor was about 2 miles southeast of San Fernando, 7 miles northwest of Burbank and 10 miles from Universal City, the USGS stated.

A preliminary magnitude 2.6 was originally reported by the USGS.

No damage was immediately reported.
