Long Beach police seek hit-and-run driver who injured bicyclist

The Long Beach Police Department is asking for the public’s help in finding a driver who struck and seriously injured a bicyclist last month.

The collision, which occurred at about 9:50 p.m. on Jan. 25, left the cyclist “lying halfway on the sidewalk” near the the intersection of Atlantic Avenue and 4th Street, the LBPD said in a news release.

That cyclist, only identified as a man who had been participating in a group ride headed west on 4th Street, was taken to a local hospital with “serious, but non-life-threatening injuries. ”

The driver of the car, a silver Nissan sedan with chrome rims, continued heading south on Atlantic and fled the scene after striking the biker, police said.
