Stolen car suspect arrested after chase, crash in L.A.

A driver in a stolen car led law enforcement officers on a high-speed chase through Orange and Los Angeles counties Tuesday evening before crashing into two cars in downtown Los Angeles,

The chase started at around 10:30 p.m.

The pursuit suspect was traveling at speeds of over 100 miles per hour and greater, while turning the vehicle’s lights off and on, aerial video from Sky 5 showed.

As the driver exited the 405 Freeway, officers with the California Highway Patrol took over the pursuit, but the suspect continued to flee authorities on the 105 Freeway and surface streets in the San Pedro area, before returning to the freeways.

The pursuit ended early Wednesday morning when the suspect ran a red light and collided with two cars at the intersection of 12th St. and San Pedro Street, LAPD said. He was arrested after a brief foot pursuit.
