KTLA reporter Eric Spillman talked Friday about what it was like to work side-by-side with legendary newsman Stan Chambers.
“I think what the audience loved about Stan was he spoke directly at the camera. He had this sincerity and humility. He really cared about what he was talking about. He cared about the people that he met and he cared about the news and doing a good job and that just came right through the glass,” Spillman said.
Spillman and Chambers reported together for nearly 20 years, but that was only a small portion of Chambers’ 63-year career with KTLA.
“He did literally everything here” Spillman said of Chambers’ early days at the television station.
