Family of Laguna Hills Woman Missing Since February Offers $5,000 Reward

The family of a Laguna Hills woman who has been missing since February has offered a $5,000 reward for information leading to her whereabouts, authorities said Wednesday.

Erica Alonso was seen in a photograph provided by the Orange County Sheriff’s Department.

Erica Alonso disappeared after leaving her boyfriend’s house in the city of Irvine on the morning of Feb. 15. Two days later, family members contacted authorities when Alonso failed to show up for work.

Upon her disappearance, Alonso’s boyfriend spoke with investigators but was not considered a suspect or person of interest.

Alonso was believed to have driven from the house in her 2014 Honda Civic, which was located about one mile from her residence in the city of Aliso Viejo on March 25.

The day after her car was found, Alonso’s family celebrated her 28th birthday by releasing dozens of red balloons to the air at sunset.

The $5,000 reward comes after several weeks of fundraising by the family, which included a $2000 donation by an Orange County Sheriff’s Department reserve deputy that helped the family reach their goal, the Sheriff’s Department stated in a news release.

Anyone with information about Alonso’s disappearance was asked to call the Sheriff’s Department Homicide Unit at 714-647-7055 or 714-647-7000.

Anonymous tips can be submitted to Orange County Crime Stoppers at 855-TIP-OCCS (855-847-6227) or at occrimestoppers.org.
